About A Good Life Massage Therapy & Wellness Studio

A Good Life Massage, LLC is NOT a spa. We are located on Route 23 North in Pompton Plains, NJ. We have many amenities that you will find at a spa, and we feel that this location has enabled us to perfect our brand. We focus on the issues that the clients are having and specialize in alleviating muscle tension. Our clients leave with the satisfaction that they had a therapist that listened to them about their pain, and knew how to fix it.

Hi, I’m Danielle! I have been a licensed massage therapist for 13 years. I specialize in Medical Massage Therapy. What is that? You ask… that means that I have targeted my education towards treating many pain pathologies that affect your muscles. These are called modalities within my scope of practice. Although I am qualified in treating many different chronic pain disorders.

My area of expertise is the head, neck, and upper back. This includes headaches, TMJ, neck tension, and that annoying sharp pain that happens in between your shoulder blades. I’m talking about your Trapezius Muscle. That diamond-shaped muscle has a lot to deal with, you know.  Poor posture tugs on it, weird sleep positions twist it, and emotional stress likes to dig into the upper half of it.  And when a trapezius strains, there’s another muscle group taking a hit with it: your sub occipitals.  These small muscles, which assist in stabilizing and turning the head, sit at the base of the skull.  They’re the ones that feel like a tight band during a tension headache, and the nerves they press on send that band-like sensation to the sides and front of the head.

What I think makes me especially great at treating this area is that I also suffered from headaches and neck tension. I used to clench my jaw which caused my masseter and other muscles to have stiffness, including the sub occipitals and trapezius. I believe that because I know how much it affected my life, I can empathize with others and get to the real cause of the problem. I will not give up until we have found the right treatment and solution for you.

LIDET

Hi, I’m Lidet!

I am a licensed massage therapist in NJ. I have been practicing massage therapy for many years, and I love helping people. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career is helping people recover from injuries and chronic pain. I love to see the joy in someone’s face when they no longer suffer from pain and can resume activities that they love with their friends and family. This is why I specialized in Treating Lower Back Pain.

I am a friendly and fun-loving person, but pain and discomfort in the lower back are certainly no laughing matter. For some of us, this condition can become so severe that it limits our mobility on an everyday basis. I use specific techniques which focus on the deeper tissues of your back. Deep tissue massage involves placing a controlled amount of pressure upon areas that are causing you discomfort.

A lower back massage focuses on a range of muscles including the latissimus dorsi, quadratus lumborum, and the erector spinae, located around the lower half of the spine. Pain in the lower back can be caused by many different reasons, and sometimes someone can have referred pain in the lower back, but the root of the problem is somewhere else! At this point in my career, I have seen it all.

There is a range of different techniques used during a lower back massage. Some of my favorite techniques include Myofascial release, Trigger point therapy, heat, Graston technique or Gua Sha, Therapeutic Stretching, Cupping, and so much more!

I don’t want to bore you will all the technical terms and list all my qualifications. My point is that I know about your pain, and I understand. I know how to help you.

KRISTEN

Hi, I'm Kristen!

I've been a licensed massage therapist for nearly 7 years, and have experience with instructing and training as a former Lead Massage Therapist. What I love most about my career is helping people to understand their body and how it works, so that they can feel empowered and have the knowledge to make good choices about their health (including receiving massage more frequently!). I believe the future of massage therapy is medical, and am welcoming the chance to focus my massage skills and expertise in this field with A Good Life.

My specialty is hot and cold stone massage. I am extensively trained in both and believe that using temperature to control pain is extremely effective when combined with massage therapy. Hot stones can help induce relaxation, increase circulation, and help loosen stiff joints and muscle tissue. Cold stones are great for decreasing muscle spasms and inflammation, and reduce swelling associated with headaches and sinus issues

I also have certifications in massage for pain relief, and oncology massage (for people with cancer). No one should have to go through life suffering from chronic pain. Let's work together to get you started on a pain-free life today!
